Carmine's Little Italy Restaurant (by Calico Ridge)
I was so excited when I saw that they were building a Carmine's Little Italy right by my neighborhood and couldn't wait to eat there. I had eaten eat at a Carmine's before and really enjoyed the food (I didn't enjoy the company lol...bad date) So, when the doors opened I told my friend (jill) that we needed to go eat there. We ate there once and it was just ok. The food was fair and the service was mediocre. Well, against my better judgement I decided to go back with some other friends of mine on this past friday 02.20.2009. We sat down and our server's name was JENNIFER and she seemed like a nice girl. She even knew one of my friends I was eating with. Long story short we had a wonderful dinner with good conversation and a fun waitress. At one point the owner even came over and joked around with us...it was great! The bill came and it was for a total of $82.43(my friends were drinking etc.) My friends gave me cash and I used my card to pay the bill. I put a $20 bill on the table for the tip and I signed the receipt for $82.43. Well today, 02.23.2009 I checked my account and the dumb freaker of a waitress added a $20 tip to my bill and changed my total amount. LET IT BE KNOWN...IF YOU ARE GOING TO EAT AT CARMINE'S LITTLE ITALY IN HENDERSON (BY CALICO RIDGE) DO NOT PAY WITH YOUR CARD. GET CASH BEFOREHAND SO THAT THERE CROOK STAFF DOESN'T TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE!!! GOOD LUCK!

Thursday Night
I had gone and visited some friends right after work and then the plan was that I would meet up with Jill to go eat Subway sandwiches and then go to Golden Spoon. I ended up spending a lot more time catching up with my old friends listening to labor and delivery stories and just enjoying their company than I had initially planned. So, I ended up going to Golden Spoon to get frozen yogurt for me and Jill and then I was just going to drop it off to her. On my way to Jill's house I decided that I would stop and get a sandwich at Subway because I was starving!! So, I pulled up to the Subway on Boulder Hwy right next to the Catholic Church. While I was pulling up I noticed two men walking towards where I would be parking and thought "ok Andi, just hurry and lock your car and get inside!" I parked my car and quickly got out and tried to find the right key to lock my car door. Whilst I was trying to lock my car I had this overwhelming feeling that I shouldn't be reacting the way I was to these complete strangers on the street. I took a breath, calming myself down, and looked at the two men and asked "do you need any help?" The one said that yes he was looking for money and the other continued on his way. I told the man that I didn't have any cash but asked if he would like a sandwich and he said yes. So I told him to "come on in" to the Subway with me and that I'd get him a sandwich. We walked in and I told the girls behing the counter that I was going to pay for his sandwich and told him to get whatever he wanted. He ordered a 6-inch tuna on italian herb bread and the girl behind the counter told him that the foot-long was only $5 and I told him to go ahead and get the foot-long sandwich. He introduced himself to me, his name is Ted, and we talked about what I do at Insight Eye Care, and he told me how nice this was of me to buy him a sandwich etc. I told him that I was hungry and so I knew that other people are hungry too. He said I had "read his mind." When the girls finished making our sandwiches and I was getting ready to pay I asked if he wanted a drink and chips or anything. He said a drink would be great and so I gave him his sandwich and his plastic subway cup and he thanked me and said he would pass it on. This incident really made me think. I am so thankful that I was in a position to where I could offer this man help and buy him a sandwich. I would hope that if someone saw me and I was down on my luck that they would offer to help me without any judgement at all. I have to always remember that we are all sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. Which makes us brothers and sisters. We need to look out for one another and make sure that everyone knows that they are loved regardless of where we may meet them. I'm thankful to my Heavenly Father for giving me this experience and for letting me see for just a few minutes the way that he sees all of us.
It may not be on the mountain’s height, or over the stormy sea;It may not be at the battle’s front my Lord will have need of me;But if by a still, small voice He calls to paths I do not know,I’ll answer, dear Lord, with my hand in Yours,I’ll go where You want me to go.
Perhaps today there are loving words which Jesus would have me speak; There may be now, in the paths of sin, some wand’rer whom I should seek.O Savior, if You will be my Guide, though dark and rugged the way,My voice shall echo the message sweet,I’ll say what You want me to say.
There’s surely somewhere a lowly place in earth’s harvest fields so wide,Where I may labor through life’s short day for Jesus, the Crucified. So, trusting my all unto Your care, I know You always love me!I’ll do Your will with a heart sincere,I’ll be what You want me to be.
