Today started at 5:15 am when the first alarm of a three-alarm series began. My first alarm is 'Bella's Lullaby' from the 'Twilight' Movie and wakes me with it's soothing melody. It must not have really rattled my chain because my rear end did not get out of my bed until 6:10 am when I realized I had no voice. Hooray!
I went to work and had a rather typical work day except that everyone kept asking "why are you whispering?" I then, on multiple occasions, had to explain that I had lost my voice and in order to communicate I had to whisper. For the love people!!
My friend/co-worker, Andrea, and I went to lunch at 'Famous Dave's BBQ' and it was tasty!! It's always fun to get out of our office and go to lunch somewhere exciting. She and I have renewed our vows to bring our lunches all next week. I don't know if that will really happen or not...I'll keep ya posted. :)
After work, Andrea, graciously let me park my car in her complex and then drove me to the airport. I arrived with only an hour to spare at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas,NV. I guess it's been a few years since I have flown because everything was soo different! There were new restaurants that I had never seen and I didn't once have to set foot on the tram. My feet happily carried me all the way through security and then to my gate. That's a bonus because I hate the tram!
The flight was slightly turbulent which always causes my breathing to be a little labored because I'm afraid that the plane is going to plummet to the ground but I am happy to say it did not plummet to the earth from the heavens. Thank goodness for my iPhone and a pair of headphones to keep me distracted. Luckily I had purchased a diet coke at the terminal before boarding because good ol' Southwest did not do their beverage service due to the turbulence. I ALWAYS need my diet coke when I fly.
Once my feet were firmly planted back on the earth I went and picked my bag up and met my Mom, and sister, out at passenger pickup. We then made the fun trip from SLC to Provo in what seemed to be the longest car ride ever!! j/k
Did I mention that my brother is moving this weekend? (quickly reads through blog) No, I have not mentioned the move. This is one of the main reasons I am in Utah. The other reason being that there is someone here that I really like and get to go out with while I'm here. Let's call him, Mr. Darcy. Yes, I like that. Mr. Darcy(which, I know I have said on numerous occasions "doesn't really exist") lives in Lindon and he is fantastic! This weekend will be our third date and I couldn't be more excited. I digress....
This evening has been my induction into the moving class of 2010. A comedy of errors has followed me this evening in the following ways:
1. I followed my brother/uhaul in his car and on the way to the house I got hot and rolled down the window. Well, the window is broken and if you roll it down it doesn't come back up. Good job Andi!
2. Whilst we were trying to push the extremely large couches through the entirely too small door I so smoothly think I may have broken my brother's finger. :( I'm still praying that he can use it still.
3. I had no diet coke.
4. We finally unloaded the damn (pardon my french) trucks and returned the uhaul and successfully fixed the window. I'd like to send a shout out to my Heavenly Father for helping us with that window. Seriously...he helped a ton!
OK, well, it's late and I'm exhausted. Moving class continues in the morning. Hopefully my voice will come back by then. Oh, and I have a date tomorrow with Mr. Darcy. It will be great!
I wish you all a great night full of sugarplums dancing in your heads.
